ABOUT ME

I’m a Visual Artist that earned a BA in Fine Arts at the University of Guadalajara and an MA in Modern and Contemporary Art History at Centro de Cultura Casa Lamm in Mexico City. Enjoy using painting, drawing, and mixed media techniques. My pieces share a space between art and craft. They are the result of constant experimentation, always trying to use materials from natural resources, involving repurposed fabrics and canvases, and the Novohispanic gilding and polychrome techniques, which I learned while working with Art Restoration professionals in Mexico.

My work conceptualizes the barriers to social inclusion and explores how community involvement can enrich and support the adaptation process into a new culture.

Sharing my creative process with the community and reflecting on how my pieces would be experienced through collectiveness has become one of my primary artistic motivations. An important part of my practice is sharing my skills and encouraging people to enjoy the process of art making, leading several workshops throughout the year.

I’ve also worked as a professional-level teacher at the School of Conservation and Restoration in Zacatecas, Mexico.

Currently, I’m a fellow artist at The Union for Contemporary Art.
